MEET JOHN TAGLE


  • 1983   Born in Plano, TX, a suburb of Dallas.

  • 1988  Begins playing goalie for his soccer team, the Hornets, which went undefeated for seven straight seasons.

  • 1995  Plays pee-wee football on an undefeated team. During championship game neither team scores in torrential downpour. His team wins based on yards gained.

  • 1996  Sports injury forces new interest to emerge. During knee re-hab he turns to the band. Struggles playing trumpet.

  • 1997  Parents forbid return to sports on injured knee. Band career continues, but follows good advice and switches to tuba.

  • 2001  Graduates high school and attends the University of Texas at Austin. Hook’em Horns!

  • 2003  Parents think its time to declare a major. PR sounds intriguing. Begins taking more writing classes. Lands first summer internship with Dallas West End boutique agency (unpaid, what was he thinking...).

  • 2004  Lands summer internship with Weber Shandwick (this one is paid, phew).

  • 2005  Graduates in the spring and travels to San Francisco for a little R&R. Upon returning to Texas, receives job offer from Weber Shandwick and accepts.

  • 2006  First year of work entails a variety of experiences. Finds niche focusing on media relations for tech clients like Freescale Semiconductor, VeriSign and Sprint.

  • 2007  Joins sister agency Current to support Hitachi and Qwest accounts.

  • 2009  Promoted to account supervisor and continues supporting the Qwest account, helping garner placements in national publications like the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, BusinessWeek and USA Today.
