MEET LISA ERICKSON

  • 1974   Born in Portland, Oregon on December 11 after 23 hours of labor. Been just as stubborn ever since.

  • 1977   Welcomes sister, Sara.

  • 1980  Welcomes sister, Jill.

  • 1981  Skips second grade. While hard to leave first grade BFF Rebecca, it’s not as traumatic then as it will be when Lisa is an entire year behind her friends in getting a driver’s license and turning 21.

  • 1987  Trips while getting off the bus during the first week of junior high and lands on crutches for a week. Not the best way to make a first impression, but demonstrates flair for the dramatic!

  • 1989  Completes aptitude test in 9th grade “Careers” class. Public relations is one of the top four professions identified and career working in NBA PR is actively pursued from this day forward.

  • 1992  Graduates from Tigard High School and heads north on I-5 for Pacific Lutheran University, enjoying three of her best years under the protective shield of the “Lutedome.”

  • 1995  Joins the Seattle SuperSonics game night crew as a stat-runner/back-up media gate host. Quickly falls in love with the atmosphere and convinces parents to let her graduate college a year early, so she can intern free for a year and further pursue her dream.

  • 1997  Awarded CISL championship ring as the PR Director for the Seattle SeaDogs indoor soccer team. Team still has distinction as the reigning champs after the league folds the next year.

  • 1998  Gives up wrangling 14 NBA players at a time and settles for trying to manage just one as the assistant director of the Gary Payton Foundation.

  • 1999  Leaves GPF to join APCO Worldwide and work full-time on the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation account. After hearing the news, Gary gives Lisa the stare so many opponents have seen and sums it up with “I get it. I’m not rich enough for you.”

  • 1999  Meets Nelson Mandela during 3-day Gates Foundation sponsored trip to Seattle.  Never felt so tired or so honored.

  • 2002  Leaves APCO to take time off, telling friends she needs a break, is considering moving to San Francisco and wants to find a more creative position. Spends time at what her friends tell her is an “adult summer camp” – living at her parent’s house in Marin, taking tennis and French lessons, and enjoying lazy afternoons in the sun.

  • 2002  Accepts position as PR Manager for legendary sportswear brand, Eddie Bauer.  During the next four years, Lisa will become the company’s PR director and lead all public relations and corporate communications for the company as it rebuilds its fashion credentials, heads into and out of Chapter 11 and becomes a publicly traded company.

  • 2003   Completes the Danskin Sprint Triathlon within her goal time of “under double of uber-athlete friend Troy’s sprint time.”

  • 2007  Looking for a new adventure, moves to San Francisco and joins talented, dynamic, strategic, creative team at Current. First project includes trip to New York for Glad’s Steamiest Chef photo shoot. Decision to move strongly validated.

  • 2008   Completes a century ride as part of Team in Training just before welcoming FRS Healthy Energy to Current’s client roster. Extra boost would have been helpful during the 10 hours Lisa spent on the bike.

  • 2009  Promoted to vice president at Current, excited and lucky to be working on several wine brands, FRS Healthy Energy and Hidden Valley salad dressings.
