MEET NORA KELLAM
- 1984 Born in Chicago on April 25 five days late, but strategically born on her grandfather’s birthday which absolutely thrills her mother. It’s the start of a life long commitment to making a plan and sticking to it.
- 1987 Teaches self how to do cartwheels and works on perfecting it daily regardless of where she happens to be. Enrolled in a gymnastics class at the ripe old age of three. Gymnastics proceeds to consume most free time until age 13, when hanging out with friends seems way more fun.
- 1988 Wins Ms. Mother Goose Award at Sunshine Express Preschool and learns she is extremely comfortable speaking in front of a crowd, even if it is mostly other 4-year-olds.
- 1990 Attended first outdoor rock concert – the Beach Boys. Stood on the lawn and danced the entire concert. Parents should have had an inclination that someday she would become a California girl.
- 1995 Moves into new house one mile away and traumatically forced to change schools in the middle of 6th grade. Wins school treasurer in 7th grade and goes on to win school president in the 8th grade.

Mastering neither language, sticks to English and just enjoys the food, art and shopping. Despite experiencing one of the coldest winters Europe has ever seen, history class in The Louvre was not a bad way to learn.
- 2005 Interns at Weber Shandwick in Chicago and works on big-name brands Planters, Kraft, National Pork Board and Oscar Mayer. Lands first media placement launching the first annual “Oreo & Milk Jingle Contest” and learns to love pitching, among many other aspects of consumer PR. Given the opportunity to attend the mobile jingle contest tour, heads to Miami, FL and upon arrival calls mom to confirm “I could get used to this.”
- 2006 Heads back to Lawrence, KS for one last hur-rah (aka senior year). Happens to be the only journalism student in jeans on the annual PR/Advertising Career Day. Begins career at Weber Shandwick one week after graduating college.
- 2008 After almost three years of learning the PR ropes, California calls. Moves to San Francisco for a change of scenery and is thrilled to join Current to work on clients such ad Glad, Kingsford and Black Box Wines.
