MEET REBECCA LOEHR


  • 1970  Born in Heidelberg, Germany on April 11. Daughter to Major Tom.

  • 1972  Transplants to Springfield, Illinois and thankfully escapes the "army brat" gypsy life as father retires.

  • 1979  Wins sixth grade state Young Authors contest for book titled "The Pencil People," awakening a writing bug that never dies.

  • 1987  Becomes skilled in administrative process and business etiquette while aggregating and archiving gravel for the Department of Transportation civil engineering group.   

  • 1988  Declares journalism major at Northern Illinois University. Quickly realizes PR is the creative, powerful route. Reporters are the spectators!

  • 1989  Becomes an official PR over-achiever. Founds and directs student-run PR agency. Stages A Day of Mourning for Academic Excellence (a tuition hike protest) that hits the Chicago Tribune front page. Becomes entranced with shaping the dialogue.

  • 1992  First job: Edelman Worldwide/Chicago. Cuts teeth on restaurant openings, travel safety features, office furniture ergonomics and law firm partner promotions.

  • 1994  Accepts position with Bozell PR (aka, Weber Shandwick) to launch the first integrated marketing campaign for got milk?. Celebrates job move with a champagne milk toast with future husband, Greg.

  • 1995  Blown away by milk campaign response. Stays for years, refining integrated marketing skills and moving up the ranks.

  • 1998  Discovers a love of sailing. Marries Greg in the Bahamas and sails off to the BVI.

  • 2000  Starts teen marketing practice at Weber Shandwick. Learns the satisfaction of working as “the crew” and decides “boutique” practice is the way for her.

  • 2001  Re-invests fitness self and morphs from non-runner to marathoner. Completes Chicago marathon three months pregnant! Heads with husband to the east coast to start a family.

  • 2002  Keeps busy as a mom and freelance PR practitioner (for accounts including Georgia-Pacific and got milk?).

  • 2004  Returns to Weber Shandwick to manage new Frigidaire business. Oversees launch of first integrated campaign for the Alzheimer’s Association in late 2006.

  • 2007  Joins Current and is energized by the opportunity to shape the future of the agency.

  • 2008  Helps shape Current’s capabilities in word-of-mouth, influencer marketing and social media

  • 2009  Leads a stellar team of talented and creative staff on business for Samsung Home Appliances, WWRD (Wedgwood, Waterford, Royal Doulton) and Valio USA, a Finland-based milk processor company
