MEET CARRIE LAUTERSTEIN
1983 Born on Christmas Eve in San Antonio, Texas in 9 degree weather (must have been a South Texas record... or close to it). Leaves the hospital in a Santa hat.
1988 Enrolls in various extra curricular activities, including basketball and gymnastics. Ends up not being overly “talented” in the athletics department.
1998 Joins track team in high school, running various – at least 2 or 3 – races (at an extremely slow pace).
2002 Graduates high school and after much deliberation, decides to attend the University of Texas at Austin. Travels to Hawaii with friends and enjoys some serious relaxation before heading to college in the fall.
2004 Gets first internship in New York. Spends the summer in a SoHo showroom doing anything possible to learn about the world of marketing, PR and advertising. Enjoys a bit of the nightlife on the side.
2005 Interns at Texas Monthly in Austin. Learns about the many moving parts of the publishing world. Spends the summer in Sevilla, Spain, immersed in the culture and living with a Senora. Has a wonderful time traveling across Spain, Italy and France.
2006 Interns at Tocquigny Advertising, a B2B marketing firm in Austin. Learns a great deal about the ins and outs of agency life. Later that year, graduates from UT and ends up in Dallas. Accepts internship at Weber Shandwick, supporting clients like American Airlines, Wal-Mart and Omni Hotels.
2007 Internships turns into full time position as an Assistant Account Executive supporting a new grassroots program for the U.S. Army. The program is very well-received and spreads to several markets in the U.S., including Los Angeles, Puerto Rico and Detroit.
2008 Accepts new opportunity to join Current, working with key tech clients including Qwest Communications.
2009 Promoted to Senior Account Executive and continues supporting the Qwest account, primarily focusing on media relations and executive visibility programs.
