MEET DAVID GOLDMAN
- 1982 Born in Albany, NY on June 16 as the oldest of three boys – just a few days early to be a Father’s Day “present.”
- 1989 Take my first annual family vacation to Newport, RI in August where I spend the week building sand castles, boogie boarding in the ocean, collecting starfish, eating ice cream and playing arcade games at night. Repeat for the next 10 summers.
- 1990 Audition for school play and earn the part of one of Peter Pan’s Lost Boys. Later go on to play the roles of Mr. Macafee in Bye Bye Birdie and President Roosevelt in Annie.
- 1991 Hit my first home run on my little league baseball team! Score!
- 1993 Receive the Pinewood Derby silver medal from my Boy Scout Troop for excellence in design. The next week, receive an A+ on my science fair project about volcanoes. I’m on a roll.
- 1995 Take up theater classes at RPI college. Later that year I have my Bar Mitzvah where the theme for the party is “A Star is Born.” Now if only my parents would let me burn those pictures today…
- 1998 Tour the country for almost seven weeks with 50 teenagers from all across the U.S. Visit 30 states, countless sites, and come home with fifty new best friends.
- 1999 Run for office through my youth group for the position of Regional Communications VP and win. Run for national office by speaking in front of 1,500 people and lose by only 3 votes. However, conquer my fear of public speaking!
- 2000 Gain the “freshman 30” and then lose the “freshman 30” later that year. Become a fitness enthusiast for life.
- 2003 Land summer internship at Armani in the event marketing/PR division. Help plan one of the summer’s most buzz-worthy parties with GQ Magazine on the rooftop of NYC’s brand new Gansevoort Hotel.
- 2004 Score my first NYC PR job at Burson-Marsteller. Help launch an award-winning Old Navy program called “The First Official Day of Flip Flops” timed to Daylight Savings Day. The following year, travel down to Louisiana to help produce local market events at Old Navy stores for Hurricane Katrina victims, giving parents and children gifts and free clothing.
- 2005 Land my dream job in entertainment marketing at Edelman. On Day 2, help coordinate the Country Music Awards red carpet media interviews at Madison Square Garden.
- 2006 Visit London for the first time and fall in love with the city. Go back to visit in May, July and August of that year.
- 2007 Successfully complete a script integration/product placement program for Wrigley gum on The Biggest Loser. Also produce a celebrity cookbook for Barilla with the help of Kristin Davis and Mario Batali as official spokespeople. Partner with the Food Bank of NY and book a cooking segment on Good Morning America to promote the cookbook/program.
- 2008 Create an integrated marketing/media program called “Making the Cut” for Rogaine with Out Magazine to expand the brand’s loyal user base among gay men. Program included a casting call for “real guys” and generated national attention with a nomination to win a GLAAD Media in Advertising Award.
- 2009 Join the dynamic and creative Current team in the agency’s New York office!
